The best museum on the islands! The buildings were beautiful and full of so much history. We loved all the artifacts, interactive displays, and knowledgeable staff. It’s a great place to walk around and revel in Hawaiian history. There’s also a fun science and dinosaur centers. Don’t forget to stop by the food center to get some truly amazing coffee and food too. Worth every penny!

We enjoyed learning about Hawaiian culture and history at Bishop. Our kids loved the interactive displays including the volcano and dinosaur 🦕 exhibits. We had a quick bite while there and the food at Tutu's Place ( bento box, malasada, shave ice and latte) was great. It was definitely worth the trip.

An amazing experience. Great history, wonderful science exhibitions and fantastic staff. We love how the museum was part of rebuilding Hawaii culture with the traditional sailing canoes. We did two days to soak in all of the details. Volcanos are great! Please fix the lava machine! The planetarium was a hit!

The Bishop Museum should be mandatory for all tourists to visit in order to get a sense of the history of Hawai’i. My visit allowed me to look beyond the beauty of Hawai’i and understand the injustice performed on the natives over time. A day earlier, I was at the PCC and I was taken aback by the anesthetized, manufactured and commercialized storytelling. The Bishop offers a more truthful picture. The planetarium show was a nice bonus with some Polynesian star- and way-finding intro.
